Carole McQuade Dean passed away on September 20 at the age of 84. She is survived by her son Michael Jr., daughter-in-law Lindsay Seaquist Dean; her son Christopher and daughter-in-law Jane Slater Dean. She is also survived by her two wonderful grandsons, Michael Dean III, son of Michael Jr. and Lindsay, and Matthew Dean, son of Christopher and Jane. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Dean and her parents Edward and Dorothy McQuade.
Born on October 1, 1941, in New York, NY and raised in Garden City, Carole led a full life. After graduating from Averett College in Danville, Virginia, she pursued a career in public relations in New York City. Married in 1968 to Michael Robert Dean, an advertising and banking executive, it would be 6 years later that they were a family of four.
Years of adventure ensued leaving precious memories of traveling the country, plenty of summer days at the beach in Rockaway and Point Lookout and blessing their sons with incredible childhoods. In the summer of 1987, tragedy struck with Michael Sr. succumbing to a short battle with cancer. Her perseverance, faith, and loyal network of friends and family led to the joy of her watching her sons marry and the blessing of their families.
Carole’s family is incredibly grateful to friends and family that were so supportive in her final days.
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall softly on your fields
And until we meet again
May you keep safe
In the gentle loving arms of God
