Marilyn C. Camp was born Marilyn Carol Vitulli, the daughter of Dr. Peter Vitulli and Mary (Polo) Vitulli in Brooklyn, New York on May 29, 1928. Marilyn was the devoted wife of Fred G. Camp, a World War II Navy veteran, who pre-deceased her on June 28, 2019. Marilyn was also a devoted mother to her children, Fred Peter Camp and Marilyn (Camp) Gormley.

            Marilyn was a Garden City resident for more than 50 years, who was active in the American Legion, the Senior Center, the Garden City Assembly, and was an avid bridge player. Marilyn and her family were long-time devoted parishioners of St. Joseph’s parish in Garden City.

            Marilyn earned more than two Master’s degrees in Education and was employed as a Special Education teacher with the New York City Board of Education for more than 35 years. Marilyn was an award-winning educator devoted to children with special needs as a Homebound Teacher serving largely underprivileged, severely ill children who were unable to attend school. 

            Following retirement, in addition to being an avid bridge player, Marilyn enjoyed winters in Florida, visiting her parents and her brother Peter A. Vitulli, and Peter’s wife, Kathy Vitulli. Marilyn and her husband, Fred, also traveled and cruised extensively all over the world.

            Marilyn Camp is survived by her son, Fred Peter Camp, and her daughter, Marilyn Gormley (William), her brother, Peter A. Vitulli, and her nephew, Dr. Peter A. Vitulli, Jr.
